‘Breathefree Yatra – A clinic-on-wheels’ will travel across cities in Tamil Nadu to raise awareness on asthma and offer free respiratory check-ups as well as consultations with doctors.

Flagged off on Tuesday, the clinic-on-wheels is equipped with diagnostic tools, educational materials and a team of counsellors. It will travel to places including Chennai, Madurai and Trichy, according to a press release.

Cipla, a pharmaceutical company, which has launched the initiative, has also created a website – www.breathefree.com in nine languages including Tamil to provide information on asthma, its symptoms and triggers, myths and therapy.

The yatra will leave behind canopies where the free check-up could be availed. People in Chennai could volunteer and invite Breathefree to their residential areas, schools or offices for a free lung check-up by registering on the website, the release said.
