Minister holds meeting with builders

In a follow-up measure towards preventing the spread of dengue in the State, Health Minister C. Vijaya Baskar held a meeting with builders, engineers and public works department contractors on Thursday.

The meeting was aimed at raising awareness about preventing spread of dengue.

The builders were instructed to avoid stagnation of water at construction sites to prevent breeding of Aedes Aegypti mosquito that causes dengue, Dr. Vijaya Baskar said.

Through a PowerPoint presentation builders were explained how this mosquito was breeding.

According to health department officials, the meeting was part of the multi-dimensional preventive activities that the government had taken up.

Officials of the Chennai Metropolitan Development Authority, Chennai Metro Rail and Southern Railway participated.
