Chennai Metrowater will issue new consumer cards for water and sewerage tax and charges at all its depot offices from Thursday.
A release said as the validity of existing consumer cards expired last month, the Board is issuing the new cards which will be valid till 2014-15. Consumers have to furnish details of their premises in the self declaration form, which must be submitted to get the new card.
The forms could be downloaded from the website, www.chennaimetrowater.com. People must also produce old cards or the latest receipt of water and sewer tax/charges.
Cards for new assessee/consumer would be issued only in the area offices. Consumers may contact the Area Engineer concerned in case of difficulty in obtaining a new card, the release said.
