Metrowater reminds consumers of water and sewerage dues

Chennai Metrowater has asked consumers to pay their water and sewerage tax dues and charges. Consumers now have various options to remit their taxes and charges.

Besides the collection centres at Metrowater’s head office, area and depot offices, consumers can also pay the taxes and charges at the common collection centres, where property tax is also collected.

There are over 11.32 lakh assesses in the city, including those in the added areas, statistics indicate.

People can also pay at e-sevai centres operated by Tamil Nadu Arasu Cable TV.

A press release said assesses in the added areas are also required to pay water and sewerage taxes. The amount can also be remitted online throughwww.chennaimetrowater.

Disconnections

If the arrears are not paid on time, Chennai Metrowater is authorised to disconnect water and sewer connections to realise the dues.

There are over 11.32 lakh assesses in the city, including those in the added areas.
