Man found hanging inside printing press in Chennai

The police suspect it to be a case of suicide but family members cry foul

A 31-year-old man was found hanging from a rope inside a printing press in Zam Bazaar on Saturday morning.

The police suspected it to be a case of suicide but family members have cried foul.

The Zam Bazaar police identified the deceased as K. Baskar of Mir Bakshi Ali Street, Royapettah, who ran a printing press near his house.

On Saturday morning, he was found hanging there. He was gagged and his feet were bound. There was alcohol bottles scattered across the room.

According to the police, he may have killed himself following a disagreement with some family members. However, Baskar’s family claims he was murdered.

The body was sent to Government Royapettah Hospital for post-mortem. Preliminary reports indicated suicide, said sources.
