Man found dead in Cooum

A 24-year-old man was found dead in the Cooum river, opposite a bus terminus in Kodungaiyur on Wednesday.

The police said the victim Bheelin Chowdoury, a labourer from Bihar, had been living in Chinnandi Madam in Kodungaiyur for the past few years along with his wife and four children. On Sunday afternoon, after having lunch at home, he left to meet some friends in the neighbourhood. However, he failed to return.

His body was found by commuters, who were leaving the bus terminus in Kannadasan Nagar in Kodungaiyur, on Wednesday evening and alerted the police. The body was sent to Government Stanley Hospital for post-mortem examination. A case has been registered by the Kodungaiyur police. The cause of death is being probed.
