A 22-year-old man died while cleaning a drinking water sump in a commercial complex on Greams Road on Tuesday. Police arrested the two men in connection with this.

According to the police, Ezhil Arasan (22), a resident of Chetpet, did house keeping for a private clinic on Greams Road. As there was a water problem, Srinivasa Lakhan (36) and Babu (35), who worked nearby, requested Ezhil to clean the sump. Ezhil got into the sump, which was around 12 feet deep, around 6 p.m. on Tuesday, but when he did not come out, the duo alerted the police. Fire and Rescue personnel who were called in found him dead. Probe is on.
