A Chennai-based lawyer, P. Prem Anand, 57, was arrested on charges of sexually assaulting a nine-year-old girl on board the Trivandrum Central – Chennai Central Mail near Erode on Sunday.

When the train arrived at the Erode Railway Junction, the lawyer was taken to the Government Railway Police Station. The victim’s parents lodged a complaint and the police registered a case under Section 9 (m) r/w 10 of Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act, 2012.
