Actor Rajinikanth’s next film, ‘Kochadaiiyaan,’ is slated for theatrical release on January 10. The audio of the much-awaited movie is set for a December 12 release, coinciding with the actor’s birthday.

The official word from ‘Kochadaiiyaan’ crew set Twitter abuzz on Thursday. Several fans are overjoyed the photo-realistic 3D animation project, directed by Rajinikanth’s daughter Soundarya Ashwin, has set out its schedule.

There has been huge speculation over the film’s release. The filmmakers have said already that its prolonged state of being ‘in production’ is because of the latest techniques such as ‘performance capture’ being employed for the film.

Rajinikanth and Deepika Padukone play the lead roles in the movie. Apart from them, the star cast includes Sarath Kumar, Nasser, Jackie Shroff and Shobana. Veteran actor Nagesh, who died in 2009, will make screen appearance as a ‘synthespian’ brought back to life using computer animation techniques.

The film’s music has been scored by Oscar winner A.R. Rahman and the single ‘Enge Pogudho Vaanam,’ sung by veteran playback singer S.P. Balasubramanian with national award winner Vairamuthu’s lyrics, has already been a big hit on FM radio stations and sales charts.

The makers of ‘Kochadaiiyaan’ released a teaser in September. The film is expected to release in Tamil, Telugu and Hindi initially. There are also plans to release it in English and Japanese later.
