August 15, 2016 12:00 am | Updated 08:43 am IST - CHENNAI:

Six persons, including a juvenile were arrested by the city police for allegedly murdering a 45-year-old man in Thirumullaivoyal.

The accused — Vijayakumar, K.P. alias Ajith Kumar, Selvarasan, Sandana Kumar, Vinod and a juvenile — had allegedly gotten into a drunken brawl with the victim Elumalai on August 2. Following the quarrel, Vijayakumar slapped Elumalai while the others hit him with bricks. When they realised he was dead, they dragged his body inside a dilapidated building in Saraswathi Nagar and escaped.

Police had formed a special team to nab the offenders. While five of them were arrested on August 3, Vinod was caught on August 12.
