Jayalalithaa spent Rs.10.37 lakh for RK Nagar by-poll

Chief Minister Jayalalithaa spent Rs.10.37 lakh in the RK Nagar by-election, according to the abstract of statement of election expenses released by the Chennai District Election Office.

According to details of election funds and expenditure of the candidate, Rs.3.15 lakh was spent on “erecting stage, pandal, furniture, fixtures and poles.” No spending was recorded on arches, barricades, flowers, garlands, board displays, projector displays, 3D displays, lodging expenses of celebrities, party functionaries and star campaigners.

CPI candidate C.Mahendran incurred an election expenditure of Rs.5.19 lakh of which he received Rs.56,500 as gift, loan or donation.
