The Governor of Tamil Nadu, K. Rosaiah, inaugurated the 25 annual Indian Society for Dental Research (ISDR) International conference recently.
The conference is a platform for the practitioners, scientists and teachers in the field of dentistry to interact with each other and share ideas that eventually pave way to revolutionary breakthroughs. It aims to advance research and increase knowledge for the improvement of oral health in the country.
This year, events ranging from student conferences, limited audience programmes, and conference courses were conducted.
The student conference enabled students pursuing dentistry to stay updated on the latest techniques and breakthroughs in the field. The limited audience courses were open for registered delegates.
Topics under discussion included conscious sedation, site development for dental implants, management of periodontal conditions, etc. These scientific discussions were led by practitioners and researchers from the U.S., Italy, Australia, U.K., South Korea, Hong Kong, Kuwait and Greece.
