Objecting to the portrayal of film producers in director Karthik Subbaraj’s latest release Iraivi , the Tamil Nadu Film Producers’ Council plans to take up the issue with the Tamil Nadu Film Directors Association.

While the movie has been getting rave reviews, producers have taken objection to the portrayal of a character and some scenes that show film producers in poor light.

According to sources, the film reflects the clash between the director and the producer of one of the earlier films. Tamil Nadu Film Producers’ Council’s vice-president T.G. Thyagarajan said it was an unanimous feeling among producers that the movie had portrayed them in a derogatory manner. “We strongly condemn such portrayal and plan to take up the issue with the Tamil Nadu Film Directors Association,” he said.

Responding to the issue, Subbaraj said he was yet to receive any information about the issue and hence could not comment on it.
