IIT-Madras student found dead in hostel

On Monday morning, his friends found his body hanging from the ceiling of his room. Police suspect it to be a suicide, but no suicide note was found.

Rahul G. Prasad, a final year B.Tech (Electrical Engineering) student at IIT-Madras was found hanging inside his hostel room in the institution premises early on Monday.

According to police, Mr. Prasad was residing in the third floor of Ganga hostel. He was from Kollam in Kerala. He joined the institution in 2012.

On Monday morning, his friends found his body hanging from the ceiling of his room. Police suspect it to be a suicide, but no suicide note was found.

Police said, Mr. Prasad spoke to some of his friends at 9 p.m. on Sunday.

In September this year, a 23-year-old M.Tech student hailing from Kadapa district allegedly >hanged himself in the Tamraparani hostel of IIT-M.
