IIT summer fellowship for non-IIT students

The Indian Institute of Technology-Madras is now offering short fellowship programmes for non-IITians.

The two-month summer fellowship, which begins on May 16, comes with a monthly stipend of ₹6,000 and is open to candidates with good ranks in University examinations and outstanding academic background who are in the third year of B.E., B Tech, B.Sc (engineering) / Integrated ME, M.Tech programme and those in the first year of M.E., M.Tech, M.Sc, M.A. and MBA.

Selected students will go through a mini project undertaken by the Institute, giving them an opportunity to work with researchers, said V. Jagadeesh Kumar, Dean (Academic courses).

Interested candidates must highlight their academic performance including papers presented at seminars, projects executed, design contests participated, score/rank in mathematics Olympiad and awards/distinctions received. The fellowship is offered in departments such as aerospace, applied mechanics, biotechnology, chemical, civil, computer science, electrical, mechanical, metallurgical and materials engineering, ocean engineering, physics, chemistry, mathematics, management studies and humanities and social sciences.
