In yet another attack in retaliation to the Andhra Pradesh killings, a gang on two motorcycles hurled a petrol bomb into a Heritage Fresh retail outlet in Ayanavaram on Sunday night. The bomb didn't explode.

According to some eyewitnesses near the outlet on Venkatesapuram Colony South Street, four men on two motorcycles rode close to the outlet and one of them hurled a bottle towards the store. The incident was around 10.30 pm and the store was closed after business on Sunday.

No one realised anything unusual as the bottle carrying petrol didn't explode. Locals alerted the police control room and patrol officers reached the spot and seized the bottle. Further probe is underway and four persons attached to Naam Thamizhar Katchi have been detained by police. However, authorities of the supermarket are yet to lodge a complaint, Ayanavaram police sources said.
