February 28, 2015 12:00 am | Updated 05:36 am IST - CHENNAI:

The Madras High Court on Friday granted an interim stay until further orders of a notification of the Bharathiyar University, Coimbatore, of August 2014 for filling up the vacancies of Assistant Professors.

Justice K.K. Sasidharan passed the interim order on a petition by Vasant, an Assistant Professor and five others.

The Judge said that besides the stay granted by the court in the matter of removal of the petitioners, there was a G.O which laid down that there was no need of a selection process for appointments to be made. Hence, he was granting the stay of the selection process until further orders.
