The Indo-French Chamber of Commerce and Industry organised a French Market at the Phoenix Market City highlighting French economy, artisans, culture and tourism.
Companies from different sectors including automobile, tourism, cosmetics, fashion, sports and adventure displayed their products and services.
“The purpose of this French Market is to bring in the authenticity, the creativity and the flavours of France to the Indian public and the expatriate community in Chennai,” said, Ms. Merlin Simon, Regional Director, Indo-French Chamber of Commerce and Industry (IFCCI) Chennai.
Jean Marc Fenet from Embassy of France in India, said, “India is an important economic partner for France. We are also actively involved in the ‘Make in India’ venture.”
“If you look at all the Metro projects in India at least one French firm will be involved in it,” he added.
The chamber also showcased Reunion Tourism board and Atout France (France Tourism Development Agency) to promote the attractiveness of French territories and overseas department of France.
Anne-Laure Payet, Sales promotion manager, Reunion Island Tourism Board, said, “This Island is in the Indian Ocean which is a region of France and more than 1,500 Indians have visited this place. We now aim to promote this place.”
