The Elephant Gate police on Thursday arrested a gang of four Rajasthanis, who visited shops run by their community during day and looted them at night.

According to police, there were reports about break-in incidents in different parts of north Chennai and special teams were formed to nab the suspects.

Recently, the gang broke open a steel shop.

During investigation, it was found that the modus operandi employed in the thefts was similar to that used by Dharmesh, 45, a Rajasthani.

Further investigation revealed that Dharmesh was recently out of jail.

The police picked him up, and during interrogation it came to light that he was the mastermind behind the thefts.
