Police arrested four persons for abducting a man on Saturday.

According to police, Madhavan (30), a resident of Mogappair West, is a car broker. A few months ago, he was approached by Paraman, a resident of Nungambakkam, wanting to sell his car. Madhavan, keeping possession of the car and its documents, assured him that he would sell the car for a sum of Rs. 2.50 lakh. But he failed to do so and evaded Paraman.

Paraman plotted to kidnap Madhavan and demand the sum from him. He sought the help of his friends Nagaraj (30), Edwin (30), Lokesh Kumar (33). The four went to Madhavan’s house, abducted him and took him to a house in Koyambedu. They demanded a ransom of Rs. 2.50 lakh. Madhavan told them that his friend, Rajkumar had the money and called him. Rajkumar then informed the Nolambur police.

The police traced the signal of Madhavan’s cell phone. The four were arrested and Madhavan was rescued, police said.
