Actor Vishal, general secretary of the Nadigar Sangam and president of the Tamil Film Producers’ Council, told The Hindu , that “the discussion was regarding the revision of ticket prices and having a transparent booking system. We have suggested that there should be transparency in box office collections. We are ready to facilitate and provide software for this purpose,” he added.
Mr. Vishal also said that he would hold discussions with various bodies in the Tamil film industry and collect their views. “We will hold discussions with all stakeholders and make a representation during the next meeting,” he said.
The team also explained how other States have handled the entertainment tax issue. “The officials have noted our concerns and we are hoping for a positive response from the government during our next meeting,” Mr. Vishal said.
