FEFSI asked not to interfere with film shoot

March 10, 2015 12:00 am | Updated 05:46 am IST - CHENNAI:

The Madras High Court on Monday granted an interim injunction restraining the Film Employees Federation of South India (FEFSI) and three others of the organisation from interfering with the shooting of the Tamil film `Adhiradi.’

The film is being produced by Mansoor Ali Khan, an actor and producer, under the banner Raj Kennedy Films. He played the lead role in the movie.

Justice R.Subbiah passed the order on an application in a civil suit by Mr.Khan. He said he contested the election for the Tamil Film Producers Council president. He opposed what he alleged the personal interest being brought in by some office-bearers in the South Indian Film Artistes Association, also called Nadigar Sangam.

He alleged FEFSI and its members prevented the shooting of the film on various dates resulting in a huge loss to him. Hence, the present suit seeking Rs.25.10 lakh as compensation to be paid by the defendants to Mr.Khan.
