Exchange to shift to Next Gen Network

March 30, 2015 12:00 am | Updated 05:32 am IST - CHENNAI:

Kelambakkam BSNL customers will soon get better quality broadband connectivity with the exchange migrating to Next Generation Network (NGN). A press release from BSNL, Chennai Telephones, said that in future, the exchange – which is Internet Protocol based — will also support video and voice data. “This is the first telephone exchange to migrate to NGN in Chennai Telephones. In the next phase, exchanges in Selaiyur, Rajakilpakkam, Chromepet and Perungudi will be covered,” said BSNL spokesperson G. Vijaya.

The migration will be effected from 3.30 p.m. on Monday and will cover phone numbers starting from 27474 and 27475. There will be no change in the telephone numbers and billing cycle. Customers using STD/ISD facilities with dynamic lock are requested to re-register the password after the migration. They may also verify for the continuance of other value added services after the migration. Service is likely to be disrupted for a short while during the migration. For any further assistance the sub-divisional engineer can be contacted at 2747 4291 or 94449 04060.
