The PMK on Tuesday criticised the State government for its alleged inability to ensure the return of boats and fishing equipment of arrested fishermen being released by the Sri Lankan government.
In a statement issued here, PMK leader S. Ramadoss said that Sri Lankan authorities had seized a total of 102 boats.
In all, 77 fishermen were arrested between May 30 and July 15 during when a ban on fishing was in place. Eventually when 49 fishermen were released, their boats remained confiscated affecting their livelihood.
