“K.R. Sundararajan made education accessible to all,” Tamil Nadu Governor, K. Rosaiah, said at the birth centenary celebration of the founder of Meenakshi Group of Institutions, at Meenakshi College for Women on Tuesday.

“Sundararajan was an educationist par excellence and a philanthropist,” he said. “This college has an enviable record of producing fine and disciplined young women. In a short span, it has shown stupendous growth – the past and present faculty and students have made it what it is today.”

G.V. Raman of the Shriram Group of companies said that Mr. Sundararjan always spoke of how one must have tremendous amounts of determination and courage. “He told me that we must have conviction and courage to do things that we take up. He was such a great visionary,” he said.

The governor also distributed scholarships to students on the occasion.
