Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) and Desiya Murpokku Dravida Kazhagam (DMDK) MLAs were evicted on Tuesday for disrupting the proceedings of the House.

The members started raising slogans and objected to the remarks made by All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam legislator C. Vijayabaskar, who made a reference in his speech about the DMK's role in handling the Sri Lankan Tamils issue and the recent visit of DMDK leader Vijayakanth to New Delhi. This infuriated the members of respective political parties.

DMK legislators objected to the remarks made against their leader. Immediately, Speaker P. Dhanapal said that Mr. Vijayabaskar just made a general remark without referring to anyone in particular. Unhappy with the reply, DMK MLAs disturbed the proceeding for nearly 10 minutes,.

As they were evicted for the third time, the Speaker said they would not be allowed to participate in the rest of the session. Wednesday is the last day of the ongoing session. Minutes later, DMDK members raised objection, when Mr. Vijayabaskar made an indirect reference to the functioning style of the DMDK and its leader. DMDK members sought the Speaker's permission to air their views. To this, Mr. Dhanapal said they could speak only after Mr. Vijayabaskar completed his speech. They squatted in front of the Speaker. As Mr. Dhanapal’s warning went unheeded, he ordered their eviction.
