DMDK workers ransack party office

Desiya Murpokku Dravida Kazhagam workers ransacked the party office near central bus stand here on Monday, breaking furniture and smashing a portrait of party leader Vijayakant kept inside.

They were protesting the denial of seat to Rajesh Perumal, the party's union-level president, in Athoor constituency. The police secured five persons.

Party men said that the party high command announced that S.R.K. Balasubramanian, party's west district secretary will contest as DMDK candidate in Athoor constituency. In a fit of anger, Perumal along with his supporters barged in to the office and attacked it.
