CRPF constable shoots himself

According to police, he was from West Bengal and has been undergoing training for the past 8 months.

A 23-year-old Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) constable recurit Kailash Chandra Roy, shot himself with insas rifle in the Avadi CRPF recruit training centre on Thursday morning.

According to police, he was from West Bengal and has been undergoing training for the past 8 months.

He was supposed to complete the training in a months time. Police suspect that he was under depression as he was away from the family.

“He had fired three rounds,” said a police inspector attached to Avadi Tank Factory police station where a case has been registered.

Further investigation is on.
