Alleging that a doctor’s negligence led to the death of an 18-year old college student, her relatives attacked a private hospital at Vettuvankeni on Saturday.

According to sources, Nisha, 18, was initially brought to a private hospital on ECR with serious burn injuries on her hips, stomach and legs. After treatment for a couple of days, her condition reportedly deteriorated and she was referred to a multi-speciality hospital in the city.

She died while being shifted to the city hospital.

Alleging that the doctor’s negligence led to Nisha’s death, her relatives attacked the hospital and destroyed the glass panes. A section of the crowd attempted to stage a road-roko on ECR and was thwarted by a police team, which arrived on the scene.

Later, the agitating relatives dispersed after being pacified by the police. However, no police case was registered till late in the night. The hospital authorities could not be reached for their comments.
