Comedy actor ‘Alwa’ Vasu, who has acted in over 900 films, died in Madurai on Thursday, aged 56. Vasu gained popularity in the film ‘Amaithipadai,’ starring actor Sathyaraj and Manivannan. He also paired up with comedian Vadivelu in several films.
Vasu had been ailing for quite some time and was undergoing treatment. “We tried to give the best treatment possible to him, but he didn’t survive,” Bala Sundar, a relative, said. Vasu is survived by his wife and a daughter.
