Chief Minister Jayalalithaa on Monday met the newly-elected office bearers of Nadigar Sangam – actors Nasser, Vishal, Karthi, Ponvannan and Karunas.
“The meeting lasted for around 10 minutes. She wished us well and said that she had confidence that the Nadigar Sangam will once again function like how it used to be when Sivaji Ganesan was at the helm of affairs. It was a great day for us,” said Nasser, actor and president of the Nadigar Sangam.
He said that Ms. Jayalalithaa told them not to hesitate to ask for any help, if needed. “We just wanted to take her wishes and decided not to request for any help. But we were pleasantly surprised when she told us this,” he said.
When actor Vishal requested her to lay the foundation stone for the new building that is being planned in the 19-ground Nadigar Sangam property, the Chief Minister had reportedly told them to keep her informed in advance.
Actor Nasser said that the Nadigar Sangam was now working on a project to update and digitise the database.
