Staff of Shoppers Stop and Environmentalist Foundation of India take part in a clean up drive at Virugambakkam tank.

The Environmentalist Foundation of India organised a Lake Clean up and restoration project at Valasaravakam recently in association with Shoppers Stop. The initiative saw volunteers from EFI along with employees of the store clean the Valasaravakkam Tank at Keshavardhini.

Garbage ranging from polythene, rubber, thermocol, etc, were removed. The entire clean up lasted for more than four hours.

Shoppers Stop and Environmentalist Foundation of India have entered an agreement to adopt two more lakes in the city and convert them into biodiversity hotspots. The entire project is set to be completed by December 2012.
