A group of students of Presidency College beat up an autorickshaw driver on Kamarajar Salai on Monday afternoon and attacked a media cameraman who filmed the assault, and damaged his equipment. The brutal assault by students was captured on camera and police personnel are scrutinising the footage to nab the suspects. The condition of victims is stable.

The incident took place around 2 p.m. when the students crossed the road and banged the vehicle that was waiting at a traffic signal near the college. When autorickshaw driver Tamim Ansari questioned the youngsters after they hit the windshield of his vehicle, they began beating him up and damaging his vehicle.

The crew members of a news television channel who were in the vicinity noticed the incident and lensman M. Jones started filming it.
