Around 10,38,876 students from Tamil Nadu and Puducherry registered for the examination

At 10 a.m. on Friday, over 10 lakh students who appeared for the State-board class X (SSLC) examination in Tamil Nadu and Puducherry will get to see the outcome of their hard work and efforts over the past year.

According to the directorate of government examinations, around 10,38,876 students from Tamil Nadu and Puducherry, including 56,556 students from Chennai, registered for the examination which was conducted in March-April 2014.

On Friday, students can access their results on www.tnresults.nic.in, www.dge1.tn.nic.in, www.dge2.tn.nic.in, www.dge3.tn.nic.in. Those with smartphones can access their results through www.dge1.tn.nic.in.

Students can also get their results by sending ‘TNBOARD <registration no>, <DOB in DD/MM/YYYY format> to 09282232585. The facility will be available post 10 a.m. on Friday.

According to a press release from BSNL, their subscribers can register by sending ‘SSLC <space> <registration number> to 53576.

The sender will get an acknowledgement confirming their registration, and will receive the result once it is declared by the directorate.

BSNL said that while the registration is free, subscribers will be charged for the result.

Students can also find out results from their schools, national informatics centres at the district collector’s offices, and district and branch libraries.

A press release said private candidates’ results will not be available online, and would have to be obtained through respective examination centres.

Lakshmi Vijayakumar, founder of Sneha suicide prevention centre, said, this year, more students called the helpline, disappointed with the marks obtained in the examinations thus far.

Applying for retotalling

Students can register and pay for retotalling from May 26 to 31 through their schools or exam centres in the case of private candidates.

While the fee for retotalling the language and English papers will be Rs. 305 per subject, mathematics, science and social science will cost Rs. 205 per subject.

The press release said the special supplementary examination would be held between June 23 and 30, and students could register between May 26 and 30. The examination fee will be Rs. 125, and registration fee is Rs. 50. For counselling, students can call Sneha at 044-24640050, 24640060, and the State health department’s round-the-clock helpline 104.
