Malaysian leader visits Prince of Arcot

The governor of the State of Sarawak, Malaysia, Tun Pehin Sri Haji Abdul Taib Mahmud, called on the Prince of Arcot, Nawab Mohammed Abdul Ali, on Monday.

A note from Amir Mahal, the Nawab’s ancestral home, said Mr. Mahmud was accompanied by his wife Toh Puan Ragad Kurdi Taib and a delegation that included the deputy chief minister and speaker of Sarawak State.

This was Mr. Mahmud’s second visit. The Nawab praised the governor for the promotion and development of the State of Sarawak.

A banquet was hosted in honour of the visiting delegation. Justice Sanjay Kishan Kaul, Chief Justice of Madras High Court, M.M. Rajendran, former governor of Orissa, N. Ram, chairman, Kasturi & Sons Ltd., members of the diplomatic corps, bureaucrats and other prominent citizens attended the function.
