New system for embedded tech

July 16, 2014 11:28 am | Updated 11:28 am IST - CHENNAI:

As India embarks on its mission to revive the manufacturing sector, there is a growing need to provide workable solutions to create advanced embedded systems in a short while.

National Instruments, a company that creates products to help scientists and engineers solve new engineering challenges, has launched NI System-On-Module technology, which, some experts say, could transform embedded technology in the world.

Speaking at the launch here at Park Hyatt on Tuesday, Joel Shapiro, leader for marketing, emerging markets region, National Instruments, said, “The NI system on modules reduces the time taken to convert ideas into embedded products by linking design, prototyping and deployment in the market.”

Stating that the engineers would have more time working on the actual product than spending time designing the peripherals, Dr. Jayaraj Joseph,  systems architect, Healthcare Technology Innovation Centre, said, “The systems on module technology would be make the interfacing with other tools easier. This would especially make deployment of products quicker.” The NI system on module technology will be available from December.
