Elliots Beach Road at Besant Nagar

Besant Nagar was one of the first places I explored when I moved to Chennai five years ago. The beach was my only companion in this new city.

Every evening, I would take an auto to the beach, spend some time there, buy dinner from the nearby eateries and then go back home.

It is here that I got acquainted with some of the evening joggers and managed to make some friends. Before I could realise, I had fallen in love with the place.

There is always something to do here. It bustles with activities from early in the morning to late night.

You can either choose to relax at the beach or try out the umpteen hangout destinations close by. The food stalls are the main attraction here as you never fall short of options. These days the beach is highly commercialised and I miss the lonely walk sometimes.
