Gyms in the city constantly innovate to provide effective, exciting and out-of-the-box workout regimens. The latest to do so is Blue Movements Circle on Eldams Road, who has introduced a fitness programme called Knockout Workouts. Designed by their fitness director Aditya CH, this programme incorporates speed, agility, power, and functional training into one dynamic and energetic package. “Running on the treadmill everyday can get monotonous. We have designed this workout schedule in such a way that a person does not have to use traditional cardio equipment to lose weight. We will basically do the kind of exercises that seasoned athletes do. However, it is modified to suit the general population.” According to Adithya, this 12-week programme can help someone lose 4 to 5 kilos.
“We start these sessions with warm-up exercises by only using body weight. Then, we move on to motion-based dynamic stretches, which is an important part of functional training. The core section consists of Plyometrics exercises, used by athletes competing in track events. This helps increase speed and power. All of this is done without or very less rest.
In the following weeks, the gym is planning to launch two more workout programmes called Body Blast and Metabolic rush. “Body Blast is a high-intensity workout using seven primal movement patterns. This apart, we have exercises that are based on beast movements (the way in which different animals move),”says Adithya.
On metabolic rush, he says, “It is a highly intense workout aimed at those who have been training for a while. This schedule incorporates army-based workout schedules, which is very effective. The workout will include a host of difficult routines.”
