Global Harmony Day was organised at the Soka Ikeda College of Arts and Science for Women, Madhanangkuppam, during the first week of this month, in commemoration of the birthday of its honorary founder, Daisaku Ikeda.

Every year special guests are invited and blood donation camps are organised to show veneration and love to the legendary personality, Dr. Ikeda.

Ms. Simrat Chadha, member, Bharat Soka Gakkai and the Area Chief of Young Women’s Division, in her special address thanked the management for the opportunity given. She began her address by rendering a motivational song penned by Dr. Ikeda to the Young Women’s Division.

She expounded that the purpose of education is to get wisdom with correct perspectives and to become a potential achiever with right attitude.

She told the students to follow the thoughts and principles of her mentor, Dr. Ikeda, who focuses on values and morals. College chairman, Sethu Kumanan; secretary, Mrs. Kogilam Kumanan; advisor, P. Ranjithakani; principal, Rani Christhu Dhas; Irani Sethu, mother of Sethu Kumanan; Dr. Mythili from Voluntary Health Services; Sam Suresh from Srinivasan Global Services; Kasi Rajan and Chemmakani of Viyabarigal Sangam; Mr. Mathialagan, Chief Editor, ‘The Neighbour City’; were present.

A blood donation camp was organised by the Rotaract Club of the college in association with VHS, Chennai, and 111 units of blood were collected.
