Tube Watch: Comedy channel ‘goes places’

December 28, 2014 12:59 am | Updated 12:59 am IST - CHENNAI:

A team from Adithya TV, a channel dedicated to humour shows, went on a tour recently to feel the pulse of the audience. ‘Comedy Express’ was organised in four places across the State, treating the audience to a medley of comedy events.

The four-hour event showcased a variety of programmes with Adithya TV’s anchors presenting mimicry, skit and dance shows. Excerpts from popular shows Konjam Nadinga Boss and Daddy Enakku Oru Doubt were performed live and resulted in a laughter riot among the audience, according to sources at Adithya TV.

‘Comedy Express’ was staged in Madurai, Tirunelveli, Dindigul and Tiruchi. “Instead of being behind the screen all the time, we wanted to have a direct connect with our viewers, especially youngsters, from across the State. There was overwhelming response to our programmes,” said an official.

Recording of the shows will be telecast on Sunday at 5 p.m. Depending on the popularity of the event, the channel plans to host more of such programmes in other places too.
