Director Krishna’s forthcoming film Nedunchalai is about a couple’s journey from the 60s to the present period. “After my first film, Sillunnu Oru Kaadhal, I made Yen Ippadi Mayakkinai which unfortunately is still in cold storage. Meanwhile, Nedunchalai is almost complete. It is a journey of Aari and Shivata’s characters, during which they come across several interesting incidences that impact their life. There is a second lead in the film played by Prashant Narayan, while Thambi Ramaiah lends a magical touch to his character. I have conceived the film as a family entertainer laced with humour,” says Krishna.
What’s CSK about?
For the actors — Sharan Kumar, Narayan, Vimal, Mishal and Jai Quehaeni, the thriller love story of CSK (Charles Shaffiq Karthiga) will remain etched in memory. Director S. Sathiya Moorthy’s script showcases a day in the life of the characters which changes drastically by the end of it. “I am sure the audience will also start thinking about a memorable day in their own lives that changed them for better or worse,” says Sathiya Moorthy.
Nazriya teams with Dhanush in Naiyandi
Director A. Sargunam’s comedy, Naiyandi, features Dhanush and Nazriya Nazim in the lead roles. “The film is a love story between a brassware shop owner and a student of dentistry. Coming from a rich family in a city, I am attracted to the simplicity and honesty of the youth that Dhanush portrays in Naiyandi. I liked the bubbly role which made me sign up for the film,” says Nazriya who is also looking forward to the release of her two other films —Raja Rani and Thirumanam Ennum Nikka.
From distribution to direction
Prior to making Kaadhale Ennai Kaadhali, director Suman was in the film distribution business, dealing with over 100 films. It gave him an insight into what is required to make a successful film. “Keeping this in mind I have made Kaadhale Ennai Kaadhali. Shot entirely in London, the film revolves around two Indian families — one which has lived there for generations and another which migrated there much later. The heroine, Anara, is from the former family, while Santhosh from the latter falls in love with her. The central theme of the film is drug abuse and how it affects the younger generation,” says Suman.
