The National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Friday filed charge sheet against four persons, including suspected ISI agents Arun Selvaraj and Thameem Ansari, in the Poonamalee special court for bomb blast cases.
The 4,010-page charge sheet listed 140 witnesses, 127 documentary and over 100 material evidences. Cases were filed against them under Sections 121(A) of the IPC (waging or attempting to wage war, or abetting waging of war, against the Government of India) and Section 17 and 18 of the Unlawful Activities Prevention Act (punishment for conspiracy and raining funds for terrorist act).
Thameem Ansari was arrested in 2012 by the ‘Q’ Branch CID in Tiruchi. The case was taken over by the NIA in 2013.
Arun Selvaraj, was arrested by the NIA in September last and he allegedly possessed pictures and details about vital installations including the National Security Guard hub in the city’s outskirts.
His bail application also came up before the court on Friday and has been adjourned to April 11.
