Centre fulfilling State's demands: Karunanidhi

The United Progressive Alliance government at the Centre has been considerate to the demands made by the State government with respect to Tamil language, said Chief Minister M. Karunanidhi here on Tuesday.

Inaugurating the Kalaignar Advanced Centre for World Classical Languages at Tamil University, Mr. Karunanidhi said that giving classical status to Tamil language and shifting from Mysore to Chennai the centre relating to Tamil research functioning at Central Institute of Indian Languages could be cited as examples.
