Beaches, bajjis and buildings are just some of the things that define our city. >Chennai Central @The Hindu had called for your take on what is quintessentially Chennai. We received a number of great entries ranging from early mornings at the beach to shots of the city revelling in night life, temples, and various portraits of people who make Chennai special.

The Hindu's Photo Editor, D. Krishnan, has selected >Keren Louisa D'silva's picture as the winning entry . The image of a mridangam in the foreground against the backdrop of young Carnatic musicians at Nageswara Rao Park wins her a gift voucher from Landmark worth Rs. 1000. >‘Sunrise at Besant Nagar Beach’ clicked by Divya Seshadri had the maximum ‘likes’ (248) on Facebook and also wins a gift voucher worth Rs. 1000.
