Bomb threat against movie screening

August 21, 2013 12:26 pm | Updated 12:26 pm IST - CHENNAI:

Sangam theatre on Poonamallee High Road on Tuesday received a letter that stated a bomb would be planted on the premises. The letter written in English allegedly warned the owner, demanding immediate suspension of screening of the movie, ‘Thalaivaa’.

After a two-week delay, the movie starring actor Vijay was screened at the theatre. The movie has been mired in controversy and its release, earlier scheduled for the Eid weekend, was suspended after cinema halls received threats from some groups. The issue was later resolved.
