Blueprint to develop State ready: Anbumani

April 22, 2016 12:00 am | Updated 07:30 am IST - CHENNAI:

From improved transport facilities to education and healthcare facilities, Pattali Makkal Kathchi (PMK) leader Anbumani Ramadoss claimed that he had the blueprint ready to develop Tamil Nadu in every manner possible.

He was speaking at a meeting at T. Nagar on Thursday evening to introduce the 34 candidates contesting the elections in three districts — Chennai, Tiruvallur and Kancheepuram.

“He has promised prohibition and employment for all. It is a good chance to listen to him,” said M. Vinitha, a housewife, who listened to the speech on her way back from a nearby temple.

The meeting started with the introduction of the 34 candidates, who explained what they planned to do for their respective constituencies.

“Everyone is fed up with 50 years of rule by the two Dravidian parties. In Tamil Nadu, the Chief Minister is considered a god. But he/she is just a public servant. So all people can call me Anbumani or Dr. Anbumani once I become the Chief Minister,” he said.

“All these years, those from film industry have ruled the State. Give a chance to those from other professions too,” he added.

He charged Chief Minister Jayalalithaa of not even visiting the affected areas during the Chennai floods.

“But we went to every locality and helped people,” he said.

The party’s founder S. Ramadoss also spoke at the event and explained how his party had formulated development plans for the State many years ago.
