Bihar politician lands role in Tamil film

August 06, 2014 07:52 am | Updated 07:55 am IST - CHENNAI:

Many Indian politicians are known for the theatrics they deploy in public life. But a Bihar minister has decided to take it one step further — by landing a role in a Tamil film.

Vinay Bihari, the Youth, Arts and Culture Minister of Bihar, has been roped in by director Hari to play the role of a district collector in the climactic portions of his next, ‘Poojai’.

The film stars actor Vishal Krishna and Shruti Haasan in the lead roles.

Mr. Vinay Bihari met Mr. Hari and expressed interest to act, when the latter was scouting for locations in Bihar. In May, it was reported that Mr. Vinay Bihari was granted bail in a case related to composing ‘obscene’ songs for a Bhojpuri album, 10 years ago.
