Lakshmi, wife of Sri Bangaru Adigal of Melmaruvathur, on Friday surrendered before a CBI Special Court.

Her surrender was in compliance with a condition imposed by the Madras High Court while granting anticipatory bail to her on Tuesday. Justice R. Subbiah granted anticipatory bail to Lakshmi, executive trustee of the trust that runs the Adiparasakthi Dental College and Hospital, and her two sons. They were arrested in connection with a corruption case relating to the grant of Dental Council of India’s approval for a post-graduate course in the college. As per the bail condition, she appeared in court and executed sureties.
