Six persons, who were arrested for hurling crude bombs into the premises of a Tamil television channel, were denied bail by the Principal Sessions Court on Monday. The suspects, R. Venugopal (29), Sivamani (22), Saravanan (24), B. Muniskodi (25), K. Mahadevan (27) and P. Murali, (32) were arrested and booked under various sections of the IPC and the Explosive Substances Act.
When the bail petition came up for hearing, the city public prosecutor M. L. Jegan highlighted the sensitivity of the issue and requested the court not to grant bail.
