The Pattinapakkam police have registered a case of cheating and criminal breach of trust against Sun Pictures Chief Operating Officer Hansraj Saxena and his associate based on a complaint lodged by a Madurai-based film producer.

According to police sources, Raju Madhuram of Madurai, producer of the movie, ‘Muthukku Muthaga,' lodged a complaint with the police that as part of a transaction over the rights of his movie to Sun network, Hansraj Saxena was to pay him about Rs.75 lakh. When he went to ask for payment, Saxena and his friend Thambidurai allegedly threatened him with dire consequences. “We have registered a case under Section 406 (criminal breach of trust) and 420 (cheating) of IPC,” a police official said.

Saxena was arrested and lodged in the Puzhal prison here in connection with other cases, the sources added.
